Premier Berisha is on an official visit to Republic of Hungary, at invitation of his counterpart, Ferenc Gyurcsany.
After the arrival in Budapest, Premier Berisha laid a wreath of flowers at the Monument of Hungarian Heroes, in the Squares of Heroes.
Later on, Premier Berisha gave several interviews to international and Hungarian media, which expressed their interest in the visit of Premier Berisha. The premier responded to the interest of journalists of Reuters TV and BBC Radio, as well as Hungarian television, DUNA TV, briefing them on steps undertaken by Albanian government in economic development and progress of reforms in Albania.
Premier Berisha said that his visit in Hungary is a visit to a traditionally friendly country, where there will be a permanent and positive cooperation in the fields of economy, Armed Forces, use of natural and human resources, as well as encouragement of Hungarian business to invest in Albania.
In this context, premier Berisha stressed that there were undertaken deep reforms, in order to turn our country into an attractive place for foreign investors, creating a favorable climate for foreign investments.
Premier Berisha told the journalist that Albania is showing that it has a functional democracy and market economy, extremely important pillars for a free and developed country.
Likewise, premier Berisha focused on modernization of our Armed Forces, as well as their contribution in peacekeeping missions in Iraq, Afghanistan and Balkans, including Darfur, helping strengthening of democracy in these countries, side with NATO and its standards.
The premier said that the Albanian government is working hard on realization of its two major plans: integration into NATO and EU.
The journalists were really interested in recent developments in the region, as well as Independence of Kosovo and stands on Serbia in this aspect.
Premier Berisha expressed his optimism in relation with progress of Kosovo recognition process, which has already the recognition and support of many powerful states in the world. This process requires its time and necessary political maturity by Kosovar political class, but it is a process that will build a new future for Serbia and open a new chapter in integration of Serb nation in Europe.
Premier Berisha underlined that Independence of Kosovo is a very precious contribution to stability, peace and progress in the region.
